Terry Clock Donated
The recently acquired Terry Clock is a donation from the family of Betsy Dallmeyer Wertheimer in memory of her mother, Virginia Melle Dallmeyer. It has been in the Dallmeyer family since the 1960s and prior to that belonged to Virginia's friend, Eleanor Drake Fadden. Both women were childhood friends and long time residents of Pittsfield. The Eli Terry Clock Co. was active in Pittsfield in the 1880s. At its peak, the company made up to 150 different styles of clocks. Just 10 years after the Terry Clock building was built, it was sold and eventually the building became the Eaton Paper Company. See the Terry Clock in the Local History Department.
